Join us for our Second Annual Jiu Jitsu in the Park event on Sunday, July 28 from 1 p.m. to dusk at Sycamore Grove in Highland Park.
Grappling Industries tournaments follow a round-robin format, meaning that all adult competitors get four matches for signing up for a division that fills up to five competitors. All Grappling Industries matches follow a points structure — but without advantages.
Students of True Believer Jiu Jitsu will be competing at the IBJJF Washington D.C. Summer International Open — which takes place on July 21. Students are responsible for registration fees, coordinating transportation, and booking lodging for the event.
On Sunday, June 30, True Believer Jiu Jitsu will host an LGBTQIA+ Self-Defense Workshop & Open Mat in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The event will be run by GFTeam black-belt Jacob Miclot at Sitkiatnin Muay Thai Academy at 1918 Murray Avenue.
The third annual Pittsburgh Jiu Jitsu Classic provides a safe and professional environment for facilitating the growth of competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Western Pennsylvania. Using the best technology, scoring and staff available, the Pittsburgh Jiu Jitsu Classic brings gi and no-gi competitive formats for both kids and adult competitors in a smoothly run, highly professional forum.
Regarded as “one of the top North American grapplers of his generation,” Jake Mackenzie will be coming to True Believer Jiu Jitsu on May 11, 2019, to share his game. All proceeds from the event will help GF Team members from Brazil to travel and compete in this year’s World Championship.

Students of True Believer Jiu Jitsu will be competing at the New York Spring International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship — which takes place on April 27 and April 28. Students are responsible for registration fees, coordinating transportation, and booking lodging for the event. All athletes must have a valid membership ID in order to register and compete.
Students of True Believer Jiu Jitsu will be competing at the Washington D.C. Spring International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship on April 7, 2019.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion, Pati Fontes, will return to True Believer Jiu Jitsu on Sunday, March 31, 2019. The Checkmat black belt will run a workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the gi, which will be followed by an open mat. Admission for the event is $20. All schools are welcome.
A three-day seminar event with two training sessions a day! Open to all. Sessions on February 6 and 7 will be in the Gi. The sessions on February 8 will be No Gi.
